Karelian College of culture and arts is an institution of secondary vocational education. Young people at the age of 15-18 years old come here to get education.  This is exactly the age when the authority and the word of the teacher have great influence on them. In the College they get the basic knowledge and practical skills which will be necessary for their future profession. "Secondary education is necessary for our profession, - said A. Shalaev, a teacher of directing and theater performances - our education gives a certain base without which you will have nothing to do in the future. Teaching here is exclusively aimed at getting practical skills. I remember the time when I entered the university, some of my groupmates came right after school and there were also those who had already graduated from the college - and there was a great difference between them."
